While composing the music for BIGGER THAN US, I discovered the strength and desire of a youth that I didn’t even know existed. I came out of this inspiring adventure with the optimism of these young activists.

With Flore, we tried to find a music that would reflect the film, that would be both singular and universal, individual for each character and coherent with the whole story. I was so lucky to contribute to this adventure led by co-producers who were so open to and keen on music. From the first demos to the recordings, this film will remain for me an unforgettable journey.

When I met Flore for BIGGER THAN US I was far from expecting such a shock. I thought I would only go on a few shoots. And I did almost all of them! These teenage activists made me discover our reality with joy and determination. My vision of the world, of my job may be, will never be the same again.

I gave up on veterinary medical studies because it seemed more urgent to me to record the beauty of nature before it totally disappears. I spent eight years assisting directors of photography. Then, BIGER THAN US finally materialized my dream. It opened my sensibility to human beings, to the beauty of what we can still undertake, and to the beauty of those who fight and will always been fighting.

The experience of BIGGER THAN US was for me a powerful opportunity to meet the Other. Those who scare us sometimes because they are not quite like us or because they act differently. This film is made out of encounters and sharing, which seem so essential and decisive to build today’s world.

MY CREDO: Let’s not endure, but take action. For the last 20 years, I have been helping crews on sustainable projects. To me, this is our last hope to save what can be saved with the power of conviction. BIGGER THAN US share the same goal and desire. I have been moved by the vitality, the sincerity, the generosity and the courage of these young activists. They bring out so much positive energy, they are full of life! They inspire me, they remind us that we should be bold and that we can all be part of the process of change.

I wanted to work on this film to show the strength of my generation. I wanted to know how other young people manage to get things moving in other parts of the world. Even if I was its youngest member, the whole crew trusted me, just as its trusted the each of the young activists in the film. I assisted Flore in the research, the writing, the shootings…and there I found my way: I want to create new stories between depiction of our world and true utopias.

The editing of this film was a challenge for me as it was my first feature film. For eight months, Flore and I worked closely and had passionated discussion with our producer Denis. I was always supported by my assistant, Sarah Sitruk. The lockdown separated us for two months, but we kept working and debating. We experimented other ways to do things, again and again, until it all came out just right. These are such small challenges compare to those of our “heroes”. They make me proud and happy to be part of this human adventure.
